Hello everyone,

I started writing this story today and then thought, this is actually much better as a voice note! So take a break, grab a cuppa and tune in to Carousel audio.

It came off the back of a conversation with someone last week who felt totally paralysed about how to leave her job and start a writing career. My advice was to not leave at all but try something else…

Hope you enjoy it

Love,

Sarah x

ps. On my Carousel…

🎧 Today on Boogaloo Radio, I had the wonderful Christina Watson, who took us on a life-affirming exploration of death. Expect silly jokes, improv games, inspiring chats and MEGA CHOOOONES. You'll want to dance, laugh and cry in equal measures... Listen here.

✍️ One of the reasons this newsletter is in your inbox today is because of a phrase I heard in Robbie Swale’s episode of Knowing When to Quit. He said ‘at some point it becomes weirder not to write than to write.’ This episode was SO helpful - for anyone trying to create a habit around something they want to bring into their life, and stick with, this will be really inspiring.

🌇Today marks one year since I moved in to my own flat. I’ve written some reflections about it here.

This resonated BIG BIG BIG time. HUGE time. A couple of years ago, a very wise woman pointed out that I didn't need career advice, instead, I needed to dig deep and ask myself what I really wanted. And it turned out that what I really wanted was to throw a party in the forest. So I did, and a whole cascade of brilliant things happened afterwards. Recently I've felt similarly stuck in my job, but I tried it again, just doing the thing that I really wanted to do. Slowly and quietly I can feel things shifting. And I feel so happy to tell people about "what I'm up to".

(Sorry about the essay and loved the mini podcast! )
