Agreed and well said. In fact I m quite happy to do a full time job, as an accountant(the profession that I was trained for).....ideally a business partner job, as well as follow my passion for writing.

I’ve been retraining in horticulture for the last 2 years along with bringing up my kids. I now work 2 days a week as a head gardener and decided to use some of the money to put my littlest in preschool so I can have space to think, write, let my mind wonder. I’ve just had my first morning of it and I know this has been the best decision I’ve made for ages! But I couldn’t do it if I wasn’t working and earning enough to fund it. Completely agree with what you’ve said. Plus I really love my part time job so I’m very lucky!

These words really resonate with the wrestle I’ve been having in recent months, tethered to a full time demanding role whilst trying (and failing) to give enough attention to my creative projects - the parts of my life I want to grow and flourish. I shall heed your advice and explore shifting the balance so I can scale back my hours without forsaking a baseline of income. Thank you :)

Love this! I’ve recently gone freelance and am considering getting a part time job to tide me over, love the idea of working in a local book shop or gift shop. So true that your creativity won’t flow if you’re stressed about money.
